She was angry that day my friends...

Feisty little girl, darling little dress!

This is my little Bo Bo, that is what we call her. She gets called a lot of things, but one thing you will not hear her called is sweet. She is feisty, stubborn, angry, funny, firecracker, aggressive. I had 3 daughters prior, and they are all the things little girls are normally called, but not this one...

We are not sure where we went wrong, but we clearly did something wrong!
Anyhow, we love her, adore her, and wouldn't change her. She makes us all laugh. We are encouraging her poor behavior.

This was her first day of school, boy was she angry this morning!

Anyhow, my mother and I worked for hours and hours on this Izzy and Ivy Stella dress. How cute is it! Izzy and Ivy patterns I have said before are really easy to follow. It did take us (my Mom and her free labor) forever, but we were never lost or confused on what to do next. Fabric is Joel Dewberry's latest heirloom. Pretty!

I take it back, when she is not around family, people say she is sweet and kind and nice.  It always baffles me!

We also have these fun "sprinkles" from Izzy and Ivy. Fun tags for your creations!

Are they not the cutest???

Won't it make gift giving that much sweeter?  Here some more information from the Izzy and Ivy gals:

"One package has 11 size labels, you get 2 of each size for a total of 22.  The  sizes are 6mo, 9mo, 12mo, 18mo, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.  There are 4 different “handmade” labels, in different sizes, you get 8 of those and last but certainly not least you get 1 Izzy label! That’s 31 damask woven labels! The fact that their labels are woven means they won’t fade, shrink or bleed.  They come packaged in a super sweet cupcake container, perfect for giving or if you are like us, just looking really cute in your studio."

And they come in these little cupcake containers!

We have 2 cupcakes full of tags to give away to two our our readers.

Just tell me if you have a feisty child like mine, or just let me know of you really want a "Sprinkles" cupcake. I think we will choose who makes us laugh the most!

Thanks!

  1. I don't have a really fiesty child but my 5th one is terrible enough for all of them. Terrible and cute together. My 4th (a girl, 4 years old) can be quite amusing though. She didn't want to wear a particular shirt (that I had made, no less) and cried bitterly about it for at least half and hour. I finally asked her (in a loud voice), WHAT is the matter with that shirt anyway? In a hiccuppy voice she says, "This shirt gives me fevers."

  2. I have a feisty and fierce one, too - youngest of 5 girls! She definitely makes us laugh and we tease her about the funny things she said when she was little. "I'm not used to this family yet!" is one she will never live down. She's now a senior in high school!

  3. Oh my! She is giving you the "stink eye" for sure! My son was as sweet as can be until he turned 13. My husband used to say that when he turned 13, our son was kidnapped by aliens, who left his evil twin behind. Fortunately they eventually brought the nice twin back!

  4. My second born was a human barnacle. Barely let go of me for her first four years. If she had been my first, I never would have got the chance to have a second! Now she is just so stubborn. She's right and everyone else is wrong - always! Good thing we love her so much!!

  5. yes, I have a feisty one too. Although she was more devastated at the first day of preschool than angry. Every time someone asks her how school was she says, "mommy left me". sigh... meanwhile at home, she doesn't want me, she wants daddy!

  6. My daughter sounds a lot like yours. She's a feisty one, alright! For Halloween she wants to be Lightning McQueen, wants mommy to be Mater and Daddy to be Sally. Daddy is not too keen on being Sally, but she had a nasty little tantrum so he is on board now. She has a pajama party once a week at my mother in laws, and of course I always hear she is a "perfect little angel" :p

  7. My second born is not exactly fiesty but maybe hard headed is a good word. Or stubborn... or selfish. My problem is that he is 25 so now I am just praying he gets through this stage and returns to the sweet boy we knew before. I pray alot for that boy.
Thanks for a chance to win.
    Blessings!

  9. My daughter was just like my boys, not like a girl at all, except she wore dresses. She played with the Terminator Doll and threw tantrums, she tore up her room, she burps and farts, she won't wear make-up, she says love me the way I am. We do.

  10. Oiy, I not only have on fiesty girl but I have a boy too. I like to call them 'spirited'. My boy is an angel with others but not at home. And noone can believe the stories I tell! And then there is my two yr old...fiesty times 100! But I love her. And I love your blog. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  11. I was the first born and the feisty one - I'm surprised my parents had more children! the good news: I turned out OK...I think LOL

  12. LOL! Your post really hit the mark. My 10 year-old is anything but sweet at home. People are always commenting on how cute, polite and thoughtful she is.. I often wonder if we are talking about the same child. Mornings are her worst. She never has a "good" morning. One morning I asked her if she could just try not to yell at everyone. Her reply, "If you would have let me sleep I wouldn't be."

  13. I dont have children of my own yet... but I was definitely the dramatic, feisty one when I was little. At the age of five, I was obsessed with Cinderella. My mother took me shoe shopping and there was a pair of sparkly, clear jelly shoes that I HAD to have. She explained that I needed shiny black shoes for church, so I got down on my knees, tugged on her pant leg and said "Oh evil stepmother, I will wash the drapes and scrub the floors when I get home!" Talk about drama. =) (I did get them, though. hehe)

  14. We get the same kind of comments about our daughter - "She's always so happy!" Well, she's a lot more crabby when she's with just us! I guess she knows how to manipulate us.

    ReplyDelete
  15. oh, so cute! the dress is just darling.

one of my daughters ass the same when she was small. crabby and whiney so often at home, but always the ideal child with others. now that she is moved out, we get the "good" side of her much more often, which I love!

  16. LOL! I have 2 out of 3 fiesty ones - the first and the last, (after all one household can only take so much!.vbg) My second child,a daughter, is so sweet, calm, and fun - a respite. But, like you I love them all!
Someone once told me that it's the fiesty ones who change the world. Hmmmm, I hope it's change for the better! lol lol

  17. She may be feisty but she sure is a cutie! Our son was sumthin else when he was little, we still imitate him and laugh about it. He was VERY chubby and when he didn't get his way, he would go completely limp and say, 'I'm dead.' He did it once all bundled up in a snowsuit in a crowded elevator; just crumpled to the floor announcing he was dead. When the doors opened, I grabbed his arm and dragged his body out into the hall while all those strangers just stared. He was an inventive name-caller too. If I was a bad mommy I was a 'giffguff' and a really bad mommy was a 'giver giffguff'. Once I cut his cake wrong and I was a 'bad dossum'. It was so hard not to laugh because he was a chubby little cherub with a lisp trying to be fierce. Thanks for making me remember this, he is now tall and skinny and very mellow!

  18. What a great giveaway. My daughter is 'sugar, spice, and everything nice'. But the boys, whooo. They give me a run for my money. All three of them!

  20. My only daughter (with 3 brothers!) was a stroppy little so and so! People assured me it was the terrible two's, then the terrible three's, the terrible four's and so it went on - she did come out the other side, she's 21 now and I still adore her (mostly!!!)

  21. Beautiful job on her dress! Thanks for sharing about the labels - can't believe I hadn't discover these yet ...

  22. I love the dress.

As for feisty....boy do I have one of those. I try to tone it down by saying she is opinionated, but it is trying at time. That being said I adore her to pieces and love the person she is becoming.

Thank you for the opportunity to win this one.

  23. My lil boy is still creating his personality but I love to call him stinker. Once when I was getting an ultrasound the technician tried for 10 min to get a pic of his face finally when she gave up and said "I guess we're not going to get a look at you today" he stuck out his tounge. 24. Not sure if I would call him fiesty as much as I would stubborn :) My youngest likes to challenge everything and learn things his own way - which makes our homeschooling days a bit of an adventure some days :) He is sweet when he wants to be, always to others for sure, and has a very pure heart. He just has a little stubborn streak that makes him try things every different way possible before finally settling on something. One of these days I'm sure he'll be a phenominal leader! For now, he's my stubborn little blue eyed babe! :)

  25. My three daughters (all in their 30's now) were pretty easy, but I have a three year old grandson who is 'fiesty'. He is such a sweet boy - love him - but he has his moments, mostly with his parents. You pretty much need to feed him all the way through grocery shopping or car trips to keep him happy.
Love the labels, thanks for the chance to win.

  26. My son, Owen, is so sweet & laid back, so I was at a loss when our daughter Olive's personality started coming out. This girl is wild, crazy, reckless, independent, & stubborn all rolled into one. And she climbs, crawls & jumps on *everything*. When she was 2 (last year), she broke her leg falling off of a chair. I was right there, but, Olive is Olive & yeah... Thankfully, her fracture was common enough to be dubbed a "toddler fracture" = Phew! Otherwise I would have felt sooo guilty. Despite her spunkiness & lack of awareness for personal safety, she really is a sweet girl with a kind heart who loves her brother more than anything! Oh & she loves cupcakes with sprinkles...so she would love her Mama to have these Sprinkles...he he.

  27. i have a gorgeous 2 year old boy called Paddy. He is feisty and loves being outdoors as often as he can. His favourite footwear are his wellington boots, which generally end up on the wrong feet. he loves to help his Daddy and Grandad on the farm. when i call him to come in he shouts "No,Mama, i have jobs to do!".

  28. I had a feisty child, she's now over 40, but let me tell you, when she was small I would have given her away. We loved her, of course, but oh my, what a handful. She was like your daughter, great with everyone else. We discovered the root cause to her behavior and boy, oh boy did it make a difference. She a many food allergies. These food allergies didn't manifest themselves normally, no hives, etc.

After we were able to determine which foods caused behavior problems, and restrict her diet, we had a "new" girl in the house.

  29. I forgot to say that I love her dress.

  30. Adorable dress!! My feisty girl is grown now, and has a feisty toddler of her own. She should win the crown though; she's the reason the grade school in our town surrounded the campus with chain link fencing...you can't go off to live in a deer stand in the woods during recess, who knew?

  31. I *was* that child. My mom went to every parent/teacher conference waiting to hear what an AWFUL kid I was at school. Um...I wasn't.
    I was perfect.
    Until I got home.
Finally in 4th grade, my teacher babysat for us when my parents went out of town. When they returned, her exact words were, "I FINALLY understand what you mean," to my mother (who had warned her I was not an angel).
I (sort of) outgrew it around 16.

  32. LOL! Well, she's absolutely precious in those photos! Kids aren't made to be molded like cookie dough. I'll bet she's the kid that'll take the world by the tail and conquer whatever she sets out to do and you'll applaude her the entire way while being challenged at every corner! Both of mine were easy going so I know not of what I speak. LOL! But, we homeschooled them and always encouraged them to be individuals and think out of the box. Now one's a Marine and the other is a freshman in college, studying pre-vet. I know you treasure all of your children. Just think of the stories you'll have to tell! By the way, that dress is fabulous...as is your daughter!

  33. I have 3 boys and only one girl, who is sweet as sugar (most of the time, she's 4, so...). My feistiest is my middle son, who is disabled and sometimes I thank heaven that he can't run away from me (he's 7) because he can be really naughty (I'm kidding, I'd love it if he could run away, but he really is REALLY naughty lots of the time, so not being able to walk does make it a bit easier to discipline). I'm secret best-friends with my daughter, though she has doesn't know it. As far as she's concerned, I'm occasionally "annoising" (annoying). I don't think I could handle the rejection if I let her in on our BFF secret. She told me on her first day of school, "Don't worry Mom, I won't cry." She didn't even call me 'mommy'. Pretty sure the tears were streaming down my face. I mean, a girl can only handle so much.

You have a beautiful daughter and that's a darling dress (think I'll get the pattern). Thanks for the giveaway!

  34. I have a fiesty one too! It is my youngest, I have told people that it is a good thing he was not my first or I wouldn't have had anymore! One night I was putting him to bed and he was being a little sassy. I told him to get in bed and he says, "you aren't the boss!" I fired back "oh yes I am." His response "no you aren't, God is!" How can you argue with that?

  35. We always enjoyed watching the Arthur cartoon with our oldest daughter. DW was my favorite character, but I always said I would not want to have a child like her. Wouldn't you know it, our youngest, Grace who is almost 7, is exactly like her, only real! We love her to pieces!

  36. Can I count my niece? We call her the tornado, but I love her so much. She is five and started kindergarten this year. The teacher pulls at least one card a day.
I would love a cupcake, please, I am drooling over here.

  37. After three mellow, mostly very easy going sons, we got a daughter. Big blue eyes and a mind and temper like a steel trap! Boy, has she livened up our lives! We have decided we like them like that. Thanks for a story to make me smile. As our Sparkle is now 11, we miss those little girl days.

  38. My Maddie will be 17 this month. When she was two, she was playing in the sprinkler and did not want to come inside. She had what we now call a Maddie-meltdown. She ripped off her bathing suit and stood defiantly with her hands on her hips, sobbing naked in the yard. I snapped a picture of her and often threaten that this will be the first slide at her graduation open house. Her vibrant personality has not changed, but I wouldn't have it any other way. She is the most funny, outspoken, big hearted, sassy, strong young woman and I adore her!

  39. lol ... I love that indignant look of the last pic! Priceless! I have a feisty one, my firstborn was very challenging, now 18 he still has his moments, perhaps when he's older he'll realise :)

  40. Thank goodness I'm not alone! My almost 2 year old is all those things and I imagine she'll just develop her spiritedness as she grows.

  41. My two younger kids are feisty at 3.5 & 15mths. No doubt they get it from me.... I am the youngest of 8 kids and I was certainly feisty. One time when I was 4yrs I cut the telephone cord on my teenage sister's phone conversation with a big pair of scissors, because she kept getting her friend to ring right after dinner so she would get out of doing the dishes. I seem to have most of the family's funny stories and we do all laugh about them now. :-)

  42. ok...I'm a grandmother and all my little sprinkles have sprinkles of their own(do you like how I've stolen your giveaway word for the kiddos?)

My middle child has a sprinkle who, although only 15 months old is one of those who might fall into that category. She calls her "spicy." I think that says it.

At any rate, love those Sprinkles cupcakes. What a cute idea! I'm always amazed a what clever things people come up with.

  43. I would love to have a feisty cupcake to put on the quilt Im making for the feisty dog next door. Yes I said dog! Bailey is the sweetest rescue Jack Russel terrior who along with Hershey the chihuahua lives next door to my townhome-like about 6 inches from my door. When ever I come home feisty Hershey has to bark hello which causes Bailey freak out, run to the door, and bounce up and down barking wildly. Im hoping the quilt(which I plan to rub all over my body to get my essence)will calm Bailey down just a little(poor Bailey is still afraid of everyone). Though it is a wonderful way to be welcomed home each day! :o)

  44. My Ahnalin is definitely feisty but her teachers link she is perfect. One teacher told me that she did not believe she couold ever misbehave until one day. Another little girl, the class bully, was taunting Ahnalin, saying that I was not her "real mama" and that she had ugly eyes. This little girl bullied a lot of kids as well, but Ahnalin had had it! The teacher said that Ahnalin flew at her and punched her right in the mouth! The teacher told me that it was almost like a beautiful ninja flying across the room in slow motion, black hair sailing in the breeze. The teacher let her get one good punch in before they could grab her. Yes, we had to meet with the principal, but, from what I hear, the little bully never bullied her again! Let's hear it for feisty girls!
