August's Block of the Month
Theme: Fussy-Cut
Heather and I are sharing blocks from our Block of the Month series. Hope you like them!
Megan's Block
12" x 12"
Fox and Geese Pg 118
Fabric: Backyard Baby from Michael Miller
Close-up of my fussy-cut square. I love this line, that tree, swing and birdie WITH a scarf? Love!
Here are all six of my blocks thus far. Fun to see them coming together! Below I noted on each block what the theme for that month was.
Heather's Block
12" x 12"
Hour glass IV Page 143
Fabric: Ooh La La from Michael Miller
Cute? I love how she had to include her little Sophie. That is one little sassy pants!
I love the brightness of her fabrics, will be so sweet all put together.
Close up of her fussy cut fabric. Children at Play from Michael Miller. Love that little bunny in the pram. Darling!
Poor, poor ironing skills Heather, really.
(but love the block)
The block theme for September is paper pieced.
Heather will be doing a paper pieced tutorial! Yay! I have never done paper piecing, I've been avoiding it! Part of the reason we included it in this series. I am going to make this block from Fresh Lemons. Feel free to wait for Heather's block tutorial, do the one I'm doing or your own! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
We are using the book 501 Rotary-Cut Blocks for a lot of our blocks in this series. However there are no paper pieced blocks so we will not be using it for September. As well as linking up your blocks today you can also add them to our flickr group.
Time to link up your blocks! Go HERE to link and to see others blocks!
love the way you used the design on the fabric in the middle, beautiful! will be a great quilt
