Sweet Celebrations Book Tour!

As we've talked about before we were so excited that we were asked to be part of Moda's newest book, Sweet Celebrations.  It's such a great collaboration of sewing projects for all of life's happy events!

Can't wait to hold my first copy!  ....keep reading because we have a fun GIVEAWAY at the end!

Here's a little bit of eye candy.  The pillow below Heather made, so cute right?  You can slide little candies and gifts into the pockets.

This little mailbox I created along with the party hats.  Can't wait for my boy's to use the mailbox this Valentine's, they both really love mailboxes for some reason, lol.  The party hats are fun because the age/number is removable thus reusable!

Here's a few fun questions from Oda May to get to know us a little better.

What is your favorite birthday memory?
Megan writing :)  When I was 18 my three best friends spent the night, my parents were out of town and we made music videos all night long.  Including me starring as Britney Spears.  I love to re-watch that old VHS tape.

Do you prefer to celebrate with cake pops, cupcakes or plain ole cake?
Ice cream cake, hands down.

If you could have a quilt shop spree what items would you snag off the shelf?
Precuts, batting, notions, minky...everything?

Here is a recipe for our very favorite (and the best) Caramel Popcorn. If you visit each blog on the tour you can get each recipe!

  1. I so want this book! It seems that all I make are full size quilts for others. Tankfully I have 3 minis almost done. They have been a blast to work on.

  2. I love making table toppers---they are so quick and are almost like instant gratification! However, there is nothing like finishing a bed-size quilt! Thanks for the chance to win!

  20. I love your recipe. Now, I just need to win a copy of Sweet Celebrations. So many talented chefs touching our lives through this book. Thank you for giving all of us a chance to win. I am sure I can find a project from this book that will use that fat quarter bundle. I am a simple pieced kind of person and I really like the square in a square quilt. Looks hard but it is so easy and fun to work with any precuts.

  164. Anything I make and I can put a smile on someone else face. The latest favorite sewing project would have to be my daughter's homecoming dress and watching her eyes light up when she put it on. Last month it would have been my quilted pillows. Sounds like every project is my favorite sewing project. lol Thanks for the chance.

  166. I love big quilts (most making the top, rather than actually finishing them!) but my favourite projects are the little things that can be finished in a short time!

  167. Well I love, love, love my Little Twister...but I just made my first two rag quilts...and now I am in love with them...I work full time so it is nice to be able to finish a quilt so quickly. Thanks for being so generous.

  169. I like to make throws. I don't care how hot outside it is, when I'm on the couch watching TV....I love to be covered up with a throw quilt.

  170. I like to do anything from miniature quilts, to full size quilts. It's about half and half....although, it seems to take as much time to make a miniature quilt as a full size:). So excited to possibly win this book.

  171. Would love to win a copy of the book. I'm really into bright/fun quilts right now. Too much doom and gloom in the world, so I'm trying to brighten it up a little. Thanks!

  179. What a fun birthday memory. When my son was probably 12, we had several friends spend the night. Listening to those boys giggle like girls all night was priceless. Miss those days!

  180. I like quilts better than anything else, and I like to make them at least big enough that two people can snuggle under them comfortably, which means usually at least twin sized.

  181. I like quilts I can put together quickly-like the jelly roll race quilt....instant gratification! :)

  182. What a fun looking book! My favorite thing to make is bags, travel, makeup, tote, just all sizes and styles. I also love making quilts. Nothing like the feeling of completing a quilt. Thanks for the give-away!

  183. I like making "sofa" sized quilts - not big enough for a twin bed but big enough for one or two to snuggle under while watching television. I think my other big reason for preferring that size is because they are so much easier to quilt on my domestic sewing machine!

  186. My favorite sewing project is usually what I am currently sewing. I love to make bags but I also enjoy seeing a quilt come together. It is always an awesome feeling when you sew that last border on.

  193. Currently my favorite projects are smaller things that are portable, since I don't have a lot of time to sit at the machine and sew! I have a wallhaning waiting to be quilted, a tablerunner finished except for whipping the binding down and a holiday project that is halfway hand quilted! Love the projects from the book!
