Little Ruby Quilt Along Part 2

Here we are on week 2 of the Little Ruby Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop!
This quilt is going to be gorgeous when we're done!

This week we will share the next step, creating the star blocks.

The are made from 6 triangles.  See the ruler below, it is a must!

I love these star blocks, they kind of remind me of peppermint candy!

And like I mentioned last week, of course Heather and I both chose to use Little Ruby fabric :)  It's just too cute!

See this ruler?  It's three triangles all connected, so much easier. It cuts 6 triangles at a time, 3 for Quilt 1 and 3 for Quilt 2.  This step yields star blocks for two quilts!

My Lucy Lu had fun separating the colors with me and placing them in stacks for each star section. I love when she can help me!

They are pieced in rows, with the top and the bottom in separate rows, that's why we don't have them pieced all the way together.

Two more weeks in the Quilt Along.  Next week is assembling the quilt and the week after is finished quilts!
