A Sweet Baby Quilt

I, for one, pulled a very late night last night finishing sewing this sweet little thing (and working on a couple other projects).  Turns out my January is a very busy sewing month!

Fat Quarter Shop is showcasing their Top 10 videos of 2015, and I chose to make their Delectable Mountains quilt from that list.

See how many cute ones there are??

I used Arrow Flight from Michael Miller with a couple of Cotton + Steel Basics.  I also used a light aqua crosshatch for the background. I've been going back and forth but I think I like it!

The softer color palette from Arrow Flight matches my little girls room fabulously!  She certainly need more quilts ;)

I will probably add to this and make a throw size, I love it so much!

Check out Fat Quarter Shop's blog to see more quilts made from Delectable Mountains (and quilts from the other Top 10 videos).

Mochi Charm Box Quilt

Hey there! Hope you're headed into a good weekend!  I sure am...my in-laws are driving the 12 hours between us to surprise my husband this evening!  My kids are going to be so excited (and my honey too :). Good thing he doesn't read the blog, hehe :) Problem is to make sure he gets home at a reasonable time!!

I have another awesome free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop to share with you :)

It's called the Charm Box Quilt.

I chose to make mine a lap quilt size. I used charm packs of Cotton and Steel's Mochi line.  I just love jewel tones, and the bunnies in the line just put it over the top for me :)  I also really like the basics from Cotton and Steel, the mint was perfect for sashing.

It comes together super fast like all their short cut quilts...which I LOVE!

Finished Size 54" x 63"

Now I just need to baste, quilt and bind :)

I always stop at the basting part...

Happy Spring!

Jelly Roll Jam 2 Free Pattern!

Another awesome free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop!!

It's called Jelly Roll Jam 2.  Needed is one Jelly Roll and it yields 2 baby quilts!!

Check out Fat Quarter Shop here for the pattern.  I've also embeded their YouTube video at the end of this post.

Us bloggers were encouraged to "make it our own".
Thankfully I had my sister Heather and my mom in town not only to help me whip it together (so fast) but also gave me the brilliant ruffle idea!!

To add ruffles to a Jelly Roll Jam 2 Quilt

-cut one jelly roll strip in half
-fold wrong sides together
-gather along the top edge to 12.5"
-create 6 total
-add ruffle between blocks

I just love this sweet quilt!

Jelly Roll Jam Free Quilt Pattern

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine (Megan) was highs and lows :/  I'd prefer an easy going week(end) sometime soon!  All this moving and things that come along with it.  Sigh.  But I did get a good amount done behind my machine and that always makes me smile :)  And I have a new project to share, hooray!

This easy peasy quilt pattern from the lovelies at Fat Quarter Shop.  It came together soooo fast. I wish I timed myself because it was a breeze.

I chose to use a Baby Jane Jelly Roll from Moda.  I just adore these colors together and the vintage feel of the prints.  One Jelly Roll makes two quilt tops...yes please!

PS From now on you will be seeing many a quilt on my weathered backyard fence and gate with the gorgeous green forest behind.  This is what won me over on this home (and the east!).  I am in love.  I can't wait to see it change through the seasons.  After living in Arizona for three years and although I miss it terribly, I am a seasons girl and so excited for Fall!

Like I mentioned, Jelly Roll Jam is a FREE quilt pattern!  There is also a YouTube version if that is more your thing:

When you're in need of a quick baby quilt this should be your go-to pattern, at least give it a try :)

You can find other versions of Jelly Roll Jam today with these fabulous bloggers, I'm excited to see what theirs look like!  And thank you to the Fat Quarter Shop ladies for including us in this project! :)

Our bundle is here!

The day is here!  Our Blogger's Choice Bundle is available at Fat Quarter Shop!  Heather and I got our bundles last week and it has been so fun!  To say we like them is a little weird since we picked out all the pieces right? :)  But it was fun doing it collaboratively, as I'm a little more modern and Heather is more vintage/classic.  I am definitely a blue/green girl and Heather a little more pink...although she has the blue/green bug too :)

Pretty right?  We've got Free Spirit, Moda, Michael Miller...a good mix of fabrics in there.  If you want to know what a specific print is if you check out the bundle on Fat Quarter Shop you should be able to figure it out.  If not let me know and I'll be happy to tell you :)

And I've already got to work on my bundle.  Two of our nieces (they're sisters) are starting college in a few weeks, a Freshman and Junior, and we're putting a little surprise package together for them.  We're wanting to make them a few homemade gifts for fun.  It's prefect because Hannah's favorite color since she was 3 is green and Kianna is 100% a pink girl, so this collection worked perfectly.

Love these totes (tutorial from Jeni at In Color Order) they whip up soooo fast and make great little gifts.  Perfect size for make-up or jewelry bags.  I made one for a friend's birthday and threw in a lotion and candy and it was a great little gift (I think).

There you have it!  Also a little later today they'll be posting about us and the bundle a little later on The Jolly Jabber so you should check it out :)  Edited to add: Go to The Jolly Jabber and you'll have a chance to win a bundle of your own!
