Fabric Tuesday Y'all!

Hi friends!! Welcome to another happy Tuesday to see some wonderful fabric-y eye candy and to share your own!! Usually we feature several link-ups from the previous week....but this week I'm being selfish.  I'm this way from time to time :)

I've recently finished 4 baby quilts and I'm sharing one a day this week!

I loooove this quilt.  It is a very different color palette for me, peach, burnt orange, pink, raspberry, lilac and eggplant!  But I truly love the end result.

It is a simple Flying Geese block. I do each unit on it's own.  I've tried units with less waste/doing more than one at a time.  But for my math to be spot on AND to get my points correct I do best the simple one-at-a-time way.

  

You can see each row just alternates direction.  Simple but still eye catching.  Simple is hard for me to do sometimes!!  I straight line quilted about every 2 inches.  Bound with the sweet lavender solid.  Backing a lovely Riley Blake chevron.

Sweetie Baby Quilt

I have had some finishes lately!!! I can hear the applause around the world, so thank you, thank you :)  It feels so good to FINISH some things and not just START!!  I'm really really good at starting! :)

I have finished 4 baby quilts that were all started at different times and a few weeks ago were baby quilt tops in my cupboard.  I basted 5 quilts in 1 1/2 days, that's a miracle for me as I hate hate basting.  Quilted them all that week and binding the next.  I feel quite accomplished if you can't tell :)

Hello Luscious

I made this sweet little quilt with a vintage look from a Hello Luscious charm pack (5" squares).  I love love the palette of this collection, I think it is so pretty and sweet.

I decided to make some traditional quilt blocks to throw in with the squares.  I wanted to give it a little more personality.

I stitched-in-the-ditch for quilting, meaning in the seams of the quilt.  I always use a thin cotton batting, this quilt will be so sweet and crinkly when it gets washed up!  I used a soft pink print for the backing.  And raspberry herringbone for binding.  I'm adding this to my mental list of prints I like on bindings!

I love this sweet little quilt!! It is very much "me" from the prints to colors.  When it comes to babies I'm traditional in wanting super sweet and simple things.

Merry Christmas Megan! (late)

Megan and I started a tradition a few years ago with our other sister to make each other Christmas gifts instead of store bought. I love this tradition. But more years than not, we are late, sometimes really late. 

This year of course, something way more important was on our mind than gifts, sewing or Christmas, being with our Dad. 

I started these in early December because I was going to be on time. I didn't finish, but it sure was nice to have them mostly done. As much as I want sewing and creating to be my therapy as I grieve, even that has seemed to hard most the time. 

I finally finished about a month ago and sent them to Meg. It brightened her day. It has been hard being so far from Megan during this time. 

Anyhow, these were the potholders from the amazing NanaCompany tutorial. I also learned the quilt as you go technique from a Craftsy class, I can't wait to do more. 

The red and aqua make me so happy!

Robot Mom Sews- Modern Foxy Chevron...

Love this quilt finish, love the photos. These come from Robot Mom Sews, a great quilting friend of ours. Kim is quilt a quick project finisher, always starting and finishing a new quilt. This is my first completed quilt from the Library Quilt Along.  See my original post here.   It is my 6th item on my list and probably the easiest one. Haha. ;)

Modern Foxy Chevron

#6 was the 'Chevron and On' from Quilty's Spring 2013 issue.  I love this quilt.   I decided to do extra large blocks..which I absolutely love doing larger scaled blocks.  It's so fast and fun.  I do think I will make another one, in the smaller version. 

I had originally ordered this Les Amis bundle quite some time ago, with this quilt in mind.  I love those foxes. LOVE THEM!  Speaking of foxes, stay tuned - I have a stuffed fox family surprise coming soon. :)

Also, thanks to everyone who gave their vote on whether this should have a border or not.  Definitely love it without the border.

Debating on the fabric for the back, I went with a teensy houndstooth print and an orange stripey binding, of course.

I also went totally outside of my comfort zone and did the solid orange, rather than white.  And I love it!
Straight lined quilting.  Simple.

How funny is this?  So my BIL had his newest automobile adventure delivered today.  He really REALLY loves to fix up cars.   I told Robot Child#3, while we were taking pictures, this quilt matches Uncle Bob's new van!  She giggled and said it does!  I said, let's go take a picture of the quilt with the van.  She said, okay but do you think Uncle Bob will get mad?  Of course not.  It is a perfect match and yah, we looked like weirdos but come on.... It couldn't have been more meant-to-be. Right?
