Simply Charmed Blog Hop Valentines Tour!

Welcome to Quilt Story's stop on the Simply Charmed blog hop tour!

We are going to make a Valentine's garland! Easy and cute!

Trace on only half the charms you plan to use.. using this heart template.

Pair a traced heart with a non-traced heart, right sides out and batting in-between.  Cut on the line with pinking sheers.

Reminds me of the "Jar of Hearts" song,  LOVE it...

Use a large enough needle for the twine. This was a bit of a pain, but I found if you seperated each layer as you poked the needle through, it was much easier.  Tie the twine into a knot, then a bow.

Finished!
Hang it anywhere and it looks cute!

Hmmm...heart garland for the whole staircase...next year???

I love red and pink jujubes and jelly beans the most, so Valentine's day is my favourite candy holiday because I don't need to pick around the other colours! Thanks for the fun giveaway!

love this tutorial, it is great. Favorite Valentine's Day would have to be when we did a fancy dinner at home as a family with the kids. It was great and then enjoyed using the China and fancy stuff to eat on.

Love your little heart garland. One of the things I love to do for Valentine's is give candy and a "child's" Valentine to all my coworkers. It makes everyone feel special, especially me!!

Thanks for the great giveaway!

My favorite Valentine's memory also includes my favorite gift:
My husband and I started dating on Feb. 12th. On the 14th, he offered to pick me up from work, on his motorcycle, and he told me he had a present for me. I was expecting chocolate or roses - generic V-day stuff. Instead, he gave me a framed print of one of his favorite paintings. 11 years later, it's still hanging where I can always see it.

I love to make little ITH embroidery items to hide little goodies in for my 5 grandkids! I've been making things for each holiday and my one daughter had one of those accordian type clothes hooks between the kid's bedrooms that all their little holiday goodies hang from and it is so cute!

I remember when I was quite young getting a box of chocolates in a red heart shaped box from a secret admirer. I couldn't have felt any more special!! I found out many years later that it was my grandmother -- she had been my secret admirer over many years. She's moved on to glory now but I sure do treasure the special bond we had!! Be blessed.

My hubby and I started dating right before Valentines Day 19 years ago. When the holiday rolled around, he wanted to make me dinner so he had his mom help him prep a favorite dish plus sides and dessert, he brought it all to my apartment and finished cooking it there. We had a lovely evening. He even made me a home made card, something we still do for each other every so often.

Oh I remember sending a big bunch of flowers to my boyfriend (now husband) quite soon after we got together, he was living away in a city after growing up in the country, so it was a reminder of spring in the country. I actually sent them the day before Valentines so he could enjoy them when he woke!
thanks for the tutorial

A Valentine's memory.... I got my first Valentine from my "boyfriend", whom I adored, when I was three years old. He moved away when I was four and a half and I never saw him again. But I always kept the Valentine and thought very fondly of him. Thirty years later I looked him up and contacted him and he had NO memory of me whatsoever. *sigh* Boys are so fickle.

I have the best Valentine story ever :) 30 years ago this valentines day I went to a party with a friend and his girlfriend. We ended up separated, but that's okay because halfway through the night the drummer from the band came up to talk to me and tripped, spilling his solo cup of beer right down the front of me, lol. But he was really cute, and interesting, and kind, and when he ended up rideless later that night I drove him home and gave him my number. He called the next day, and next tuesday we'll celebrate our 30th anniversary of being together (28.5 years married :) I lovvvveeee valentines day!

Lovely garland, and so easy to make. Memorable Valentine's Day gift was when a dozen, long-stemmed red roses were delivered to my job by a new boyfriend who had to be out of town on that special day. Everyone at work was making such a big deal about the expensive gift from a mystery man (because I hadn't disclosed that I was seeing someone).
