Fabric Tuesday- what have you done?

FABRIC TUESDAY

Man I haven't "crafted" or sewn in so long. What I really want to do is just break out some fabric just for fun, and sew whatever I want just for fun. I have so many obligations, so many things that I "have" to make, that it looses a bit of the stress relieving quality. My to do list is incredibly long lately... and now that we are into December, that list will just grow and grow...sigh...

Here were a few projects from last week. All totes! I didn't intend to start this theme, but I couldn't help but feature them all!  Love it folks...

England quilt for our Daddy...

We have mentioned that our Dad came from England. You can read his sweet story here. 

Anyhow, we are all a bit nostalgic for England and all things British.  This year for Father's day, us three daughters (me-Heather, Megan and our sister Amy) and our Mom contributed to making this quilt. We each had to make 3 24" blocks. There is paper piecing, applique, and lots of piecing. We were able to find some really fun fabrics for it too.

Our Dad was really touched, he really likes it. 

 This Lizzy House castle peeps line was great for it, King, Queen and castles. Super cute!

We love our Daddy, love England, love quilting! Hope you liked it too!

The Quilted Castle comes from Allyson, and I love how she got started, let me share her little story:

I learned to quilt from some friends that I used to work with.  When I became a stay at home mom, I made custom rag quilts which I sold on Ebay and Etsy.  When that business picked up, I started buying extra fabric, and selling the extra fabric that I didn't need.  One thing led to another and I ended up opening The Quilted Castle in 2008 and went to selling fabric full time.  We still run our business from our home, with only the help of one part time employee, Katelynn.  So when you order from us, you get our personal attention!  Our loyal customers have enabled us to broaden our product lines, and we now are able to offer thousands of different fabrics, kits, precuts and patterns.
