First Friday Giveaway Day!

Hope everyone had a swell time trick-or-treating last night.  Ours was a success!  And by that I mean we went door to door begging for candy and got it :)  I had "Dark" Vader, Mario and a monkey in my group :)  Halloween was always one of my favorites growing up but nothing can beat Christmas, sorry :)

After receiving awesome feedback from you (thanks!) and our sponsors we've decided to have monthly giveaways!  The first Friday of the month we will have multiple giveaways, and with few exceptions that will be it.  One comment and you're entered into all of them. So take a minute to read through the great shops, what they're giving away and a little about them.

Critter Patch Fat Quarter Bundle Giveaway

HoneyBeGood is pleased to offer one 6-piece bundle in your choice of colorway - Sky, Autumn or Forest.

Hedgehogs, rabbits, raccoons, foxes and more. Critter Patch, the latest organic quilter's cotton collection by Alyssa Thomas for Clothworks offers up a nice variety of scale, including three prints that can easily be used as blenders. The small oak leaf prints are on a mottled color background that almost shimmers. There's not a stark solid to be found here. The organic cotton coming from Clothworks is quickly becoming among our very favorite. The quality of the cotton and the printing, the supreme softness, and an attractive price point all combine to make Critter Patch a great value.

Weather made the trick-or treaters stay home, so we went to the bar in costume. Facepaint is a lot of fun. We should have more excuses to wear it the rest of the year.

Thank you so much for the giveaway! We spent our Halloween handing out candy to many little trick-o-treaters that live our neighborhood ~ so fun!!

Lots of lovely giveaway opportunities. Thank you for the chance to win.

Since I have 2 kidlets ages almost 5 and almost 7, we had to go out trick-or-treating. The rain wasn't great but it wasn't totally horrible either and the kids had a great time.

We visited a couple of neighbors and gave out candy to our 10ish trick-or-treaters. My boys are just 18 months, so they were adorable as Mario and Luigi. Thanks for the giveaways!

Our Halloween was a bust- not a single trick or treater :(. Anxiously awaiting next Halloween when it should be more fun since we will have a 6 month old!!!

Katie said...

My 2 year old did her first door to door trick or treating. She loved it and was amazed by all of the people that just handed her candy. She was such a proud little red crayon. Her brother (6 mo.) was not so impressed with his penguin costume. :)

I went trick or treating with my three year old granddaughter. She had a blast! I am sure she is wondering when she will get to do that again!

I took the kids out but had to come home early. My little guy wasn't feeling too good and just wanted to go home......poor little guy!!! My daughter got to tear up the town with a few friends.

As Halloween isn't as big here in Wales as it is in the US we only went to the houses in our estate where we knew there were other trick or treaters - so that was the houses total!

Courtneysews said...

We went trick-or-treating and had a great time. My poor 7 year old son got the scare of his life at one house when a tricky masked teenager came running out of a hidden door just as he was stepping away from the path to the doorway. The fear knocked him off his feet. LOL! Thanks for the great give-away!

Upstairs hand quilting while my husband handed out candy. Kind of scroogish!

I don't have any young ones to take trick-or-treating and my house is too far from other houses for the kids to bother with. So I spend an un-scary evening quilting! Works for me.

What a great giveaway! Thank you for the opportunity. Our teen did not want to go out and about this year, so we stayed home (only had 2 groups of Trick-or-Treaters - sad!) - and watched "The Raven" and "Interview with a Vampire."

I was on candy duty last night while everyone else went out trick or treating. It's fine with me though, because I like to see all of the neighborhood kids come by!

Katelyn @ Sing While Crafting said...

My Halloween night was a very calm one. The weather kept many trick-or-treaters from going door to door. None of my Nieces or nephews live near me so I handed out LARGE handfuls of candy to the kids braving the chance of rain (it had been raining all day...seemed to stop just in time, but the sky still seemed pretty threatening). It was a fun and relaxed halloween night! Thanks for the chance at one of these awesome giveaways!

claudia said...

I got to spend my Halloween in bed sleeping. All my work at work and home just caught up with me and I needed SLEEP! My ninety one year old dad assumed he was going to be answering the door and I made sure he had plenty of goodies for the goblins and such, but alas! No one came to the door. I think everyone is thinking safer Halloween activities and having private parties.
Thank you for an opportunity to win goodies. You and your sponsors are always so generous!

Jenny said...

oh my goodness! we had an epic puking incident before we even left the house! im so glad my daughter's timing allowed that nasty trick to happen at home and not someone's doorstep! regardless, she went out, for 10 minutes...dad took her home...and 20 minutes after that...my son and i got rained out. lots of rain...but we still got enough candy to bring smiles to the kids...we snuggled on the couch and watched Mariposa before bed. gonna check out some of these shops now...im stuck at work until 5pm but my boss is out of the office!

Our Halloween was very quiet, except for the wind howling around the windows! Bad weather had most cities in our area postponing Halloween festivities until tonight. We still won't have folks come here - our house is deep in the woods off the street, and I guess it's too creepy in the dark!! Can't wait to see my granddaughters all dressed up as Merida (from Brave) and her little brother bear, though! thanks for the chance to win!!

Heidi [Banks of Frog Creek] said...

What great giveaways! Last night, our family actually celebrated "Reformation Day" - the anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his 95 Theses to the church door on Oct. 31, 1517. Definitely a "nerdy" holiday, but we dressed up, went to a party, played games and won plenty of candy. :)

Aimee said...

We took our daughter out trick or treating. It was super windy & very rainy, but she had a marvelous time.

Mom C said...

I went to the trunk and treat at our church. I wrapped leftover strips from a strip quilt I had made, added my machine cover as an apron and went as a quilt. The grownups got it, the kids, not so much. But then I get confused with all the female Disney characters. Then my grandson asked if I knew what he was. After informing me he was Bumblebee he asked if he was the old one or the new one!!!???!!! I said old, I was wrong! Of course.
After that quick, intense candy disposal, I went home, answered the door to a few more until the grandkids came over. Once they left, we turned out all the lights and went to bed. On to Thanksgiving and the holiday season!

Kacey said...

Our Halloween got rained out, so we're expecting trick-or-treaters tonight!

My 18 month old red haired grand daughter was dressed as Pebbles from the Flintstones, and my 8 year old grandson was dressed as one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I couldn't ask for a better Halloween.

Thanks to you an your sponsors for the wonderful give away! I have a cold so I spent it hiding inside (especially since it was cold and rainy around here) and sewing on my many WIP's.

Great giveaways! I'd never heard of HoneyBeGood before. We went trick-or-treating in the rain and to a parade. Not the best weather, but we got out!

Another great Halloween, did a little of both handing out candy and walking the neighborhood with the kids Traditional chicken parm dinner at my house afterwards. Great night with family and friends. Thanks for the chance.

We had a drizzly night, so many of our Trick-or-Treaters stayed home, but we did get a few die-hards! Unfortunately, this left us with too many leftover treats in the house!!! Thanks for the great giveaway chance!

We only had 9 trick or treaters. The weather was terrible here. I ended up having time to quilt. All the giveaways are wonderful. It feels like Christmas!

I live just slightly left of the middle of nowhere so we didn't get very many trick or treaters. Unfortunately, that left us with too much candy for chubby old people to deal with. I've got to swear off Kit Kats for breakfast.
I've purchased from Southern Fabrics and Connecting Threads many times, but was delighted to discover the great fabric selections at The Quilted Castle and Honey Be Good.

We live in a neighborhood where all of the kids have grown up. So we went out to dinner with my sister-in-law and had sushi.

Very low key Halloween here. This year we moved to the country and there are no little ones even living nearby. Very sad. Very, very sad. Next year I'll have to think of some way to get to see those little cuties all dressed up. Hmmmm.....

Lovely giveaways. I spent Halloween finishing a quilting challenge that was due the next morning. We had a windy night and are off the easy track so not even many kids at our door.

We went trick-or-treating with our little Dorothy, Spiderman, and princess.

We took my friend's daughter trick or treating around downtown. Her bucket was so heavy by the end she couldn't carry it. I snuck a few pieces to lighten her load :) mls.bartholomew [at] gmail

We had a blast!! The weather was wonderful and the kids were well! We all spent the week before sick so we were all so thankful just to feel like ourselves again! The kids got so much candy which is a good thing to them! I wish we could start trick or treating a little earlier because it stinks that the kids go out and get all this candy and then it's time to go home to get ready for bed because of school the next day but ok guess that's just the name of the game!
Thank you for the chance at your giveaways, Jessica

I've noticed that fewer and fewer trick or treaters are coming around these days. I ALWAYS have to have some treats for them just in case. We had more this year and it's always fun to see the great ideas that they come with to "scare" us. Great giveaway and thanks for sharing.

We took the kids trick-or-treating with a little friend, a tiny, adorable superhero!

I passed out candy while my daughter took the boys trick or treating. It was a warm evening so everyone was outside and the whole neighborhood was having a party! Fun times!

Since I am in college, there was a lot of costume parties, none of which I attended. Instead, my roommate and I decided to watch the Charlie Brown Halloween movie!

We went to dinner at a local restaurant. They had a Halloween special. Very tasty meal. Thank you for this super great giveaway.

Have a super great sewing and stitching day!

I was at home to pass out candy to the spooks. The few we had had great costumes.

We stayed home, and the kids shared a bag of candy. We had the big ZERO trick or treaters as usual in our rural area.

My family doesn't trick or treat so we were just at home hanging out:)

We took our three kids out with their three older cousins and their neighbors. We always have a great time with them! Thanks for the giveaway!

Awesome giveaways!
Halloween was uneventful. We had bad weather, so the kids Beggar's night got moved to an indoor location. So we had no one come by. :(

Great giveaways - thanks so much! We went out trick-or-treating with our kiddo in warm, dry weather, which is a real treat here in Seattle this time of year!

Great giveaway! We have had the outside decorated for a month (lit up with orange lights every night!) and we were ready with treats - but sadly, no trick or treaters this year!

We went out in the rain with a friends' family. Gathered plenty of candy, and shared some fellowship over cake and cider.

As is always the case, we had no trick-or-treaters at all! We live in a remote area so there is just a Halloween party at the Grange Hall. We've been here for 22 years now and nary a trick-or-treater have we seen. :)

Well, I thought I had a class to teach so I had my hubby drop me off at Joann's. After an hour of shopping (killing time till class started) I go to the computer to sign and print the class papers it showed the class canceled... :( So I had to wait till 7:30 for my hubby to get out of his class to pick me up and take me home. I killed time at Stbx knitting a sweater (NEVER leave home with out a project!) Then we went home and watched The Voice we recorded. Pretty tame night.

Rainy halloween, so not too many trick-or-treaters. Thanks for the chance to win!

Our trick or treat night was wednesday, so we missed the rain (but not the cold!). I handed out candy while hubby took the kids around the neighborhood - Dorothy and the Not-so-cowardly Lion.

I took my kids to a Halloween party, they loved it! I on the other hand could've done with ear plugs...

We didn't do anything for Halloween this year (no kids). But we had a potluck at my work and our whole team dressed up as cowboys/girls, so that was fun!

Halloween with kids is so fun - even though it rained, we all trick-or-treated (we don't get many trick or treaters at our house on a big road). What a great giveaway - thanks to your sponsors!

Oh wow - it was so much fun visiting your wonderful sponsors. Lots of eye candy - especially billet doux! Thank you! I dressed as a raven for work and then came home and took a little turkey trick-or-treating. Then we came home and over-indulged a bit on chocolate. Thanks for the fun question and for your inspiring blog.

We handed out candy. My kids are too old and too cool for trick-or-treating anymore, so they ate more than they gave out!

Kathy said...

Fabulous give away. Love all the products offered. Was at work, but seeing how I work in an Outlet where the kids trick or treat from 5pm to 7pm, handed out candy to about 800 kids. It was so fun seeing all the little kids costumes.

(mumbled into chest) We don't do Halloween!
But I did go shopping for Lego Advent calendars and other Christmas presents.

Thanks for sharing links for the quilt & fabric shops. I do not participate in Halloween. It was an ordinary work day.
