Nova from a cuppa and a catch up has been working on an amazingly darling project with her mum. Nora's in Australia, her mum in the UK. Over a few months they sent red and white fabrics to each other in letters...with the plan to patch them together with redwork blocks of things they love. It is such a darling project!! Make sure to stop by a cuppa and a catch up for uber cute projects (like this quillow that I want!!) and tutorials too!
a journey...
…that isn’t over just yet.
this..
…became these…
…which were pieced with fabrics swapped and sent in letters with my mum over a few months …
…& it’s journey continues ~ it will be sashed and then patiently wait in the hand quilting queue :)

Those are so fantastic -- I can't even begin to pick a favorite!
What a beautiful quilt! I just love red and white. Kx
Ooh! I just love redwork. I'm working on a red and white hexie quilt myself. These are just gorgeous!
What a great idea. I love the idea of exchanging fabrics between the two of them, and the embroidery...well, what a breathtaking heirloom.
that is spectacular! what a special project to share with a loved one!
I LOVE this idea! My daughter is away at school and this would be an awesome idea to do with her. Do you know if she made all the embroidery designs herself?
Thanks for sharing her with us!
Awesome! I love working on projects with others! It just makes it that much sweeter!

I first discovered Nova's wonderful work when I saw her redwork blocks on flickr. I adore this project and the quilt!
Brilliant! I love the red and white theme, but most of all the story of the pieces being mailed back and forth. Precious!
So beautiful! I would love to try something like this someday. Extra special that it was a mother-daughter project.
