Fresh Lemons wrote a very informative post that should catch you up on all you need to know about this new fabric line!! Have you gotten yourself some???
Next...I got a magical package on Monday. Well most packages brought to the door are magic, envelopes not so much, but packages are nice :) I've got myself a GO! Baby Fabric Cutter!!! I have been so giddy waiting for this to arrive. I immediately got myself a nice little stack of fabric and got to work.
I got three dies to go with it, a tumbler die, a 2.5" strip cutter and 3 sizes of circles. FUN! I've been cutting away and working on a really cute baby quilt to share. Part of the quilt is these 2.5" strips:
I have such a hard time even throwing away the scraps below. Can you relate?!! I imagine tying it around gifts or whatever, but pretty fabrics and colors are so hard to part with.
When I give the tutorial I'll show a little more about how the GO! Baby Cutter works. I can say so far that it works really well, I wondered about how crisp the cuts would be and they're great. I'm excited to share the quilt top with you in the next couple of weeks!! Stay tuned, and tomorrow another great feature!
PS We can bee seen on Sew Sweetness sharing some of Heather's fabulous photo techniques, she really knows what she's talking about!!

Looks like it's been a pretty nice day there! Have fun with the go cutter! I had a chance to use a friend's Accuquilt Studio cutter a couple weeks ago - wow! I cut lots of circles with fusable ironed on the back. That quilt top is all ready to be backed and quilted! I can't wait to see what you make with yours!
In this area we are all saving our teeny tiny offcuts, they are stockpiled, then go to one lady who exchanges them with a rag merchant, for money that then goes to charity. The cotton scraps are apparently made into toilet tissue for 3rd world countries..win win and less rubbish to landfill.
Have fun with the go! baby cutter!
I have been obsessing with Denyse Schmidt's line for a few days now but I will have to wait until someone decides to sell it on etsy :)
The disadvantage of living abroad, I guess.
Enjoy it, it looks delicious!
That fabric is lovely. And I can totally relate to not throwing those scraps away!
love, love, love the fabric. I need to run to JoAnne's
The DS fabrics are so beautiful! I know my Joann's ladies thought I was crazy. They did not even have them all out and I was taking them off the shelf :o)
I keep all of my scraps! It is getting pretty bad on my sewing scrap basket but I would love to make a string quilt.
I have the accuquilt cutter and I absolutely love it. I too struggle with throwing away the scraps. I have found a local Girl Scout troop to give all my scraps to.
Congratulations on your baby! I agree, that fabric is just wonderful.. I love the polkadots!
Beautiful! Wishing I had a Jo-Anne's close by!
Oh. my. goodness. I am absolutely green with envy...all of you that have those Go!Baby cutters! Sigh.
That fabric line is so beautiful; I think I would pat it and talk to it, too!

Have you seen this book / technique? You take small strips of fabric and wrap them around clothesline. They're addictive once you start! http://www.amazon.com/Its-Wrap-Sewing-Fabric-Baskets/dp/156477662X/ref=pd_sim_b_1
I have a whole pile of little strips like that too and envision using them instead of tissue paper in a gift bag but who knows if I will get around to it.
Love the fabric cutter. I have a Sizzix big shot- it works great. :)
I've always wondered if those were "worth" it or not. Where did you order yours from?
I can't wait to hear what you think of the Go baby! I was thinking about purchasing it, but wasn't sure if it would be worth it...
I'm hating you right now. And you know I mean that in the most loving way possible.
and I can't believe I was so dense when I was at work yesterday that I didn't even make the connection about "DS" on the end of the bolt meaning DENYSE SCHMIDT!!
I'm tempted to go to JoAnn's right now except that I called off my shift tonight - haha. They'd be pissed if I showed up to shop huh?
roflmao, I love how you say you chatted to the DS fabric. ;-)
Ooooo a new gadget! I am anxiously looking forward to your tutorial and to read more about it.
Sounds like fun, and even though I am new to sewing, I have always known the allure of fabric. Now that I am sewing, its just a sickness!! I recently bought some fabric and made a coaster just so I could take it to work with me and I can look at it all day, lol
I'm a follower of yours and love your beautiful fabric! I've been looking a cutting machines. I notice the GO! Baby Fabric Cutter!!! and I'm loving it! thanks for sharing that on your post, also for sharing your love of quilting! I made 8 single quilts for my grand-children this last Christmas, and I also enjoyed the looks on their faces! thank-you, for change on the give-away!
I use skinny string scraps as embellishments in photo albums/scrapbooking and to make cards.
ex: sew fabric strings onto half of large piece of cardstock
fold and cut cardstock into cards of various sizes. ta da!
it makes me feel better about the waste and all my cards are fancy :)
